I purchased the 200-foot version although I doubt length is not much of a factor when dealing with a glass fiber. The extender was to be used with a TV set as a teleprompter at small productions. It worked fine with a few large screen TV sets but the LG brand would drop out, saying "No device found". It would come and go. Tried using an EDID emulator to get around the problem, and at least the LG would not drop out anymore but the video glitched a bit. The concept is great, but the manufacturer needs to beef up the level a tad so that it is stable on all brands. Also please not that this is a piece of glass and must be treated differently than a wire. For example, if you are doing a one-day event and you gaff tape this to the floor as you would with copper, a pair of high-heel shoes might ruin your day. If you get this, please test, test, test with all of your devices before you make a pull through walls or floors. Also watch that bend radius — the fiber can only take so much abuse. All in all, a significant cost saving over copper wired SDI or HDMI, but your display may not be happy with the level.
Don't waste your money. In this two pack, one of the cables doesn't work at all, the other makes weird green flecks on the picture and continuously disconnects. Unfortunately I didn't connect them until after the return window closed, so I can't return this useless garbage.
We use these for our traveling Keynote Presentations and how the hardware looks is important too.
We ran this from a TV our cabinet drywalling in I’ll need to find out it doesn’t work. Now we have to rip drywall out and run another one.
I use this to connect to a large-screen TV to my computer. Several of the organizations we are working with hold meetings that are attended by members either a live audience or virtually any members who are unable to travel or out of the area can watch online. Their faces and voices can be seen and heard by the members present at the live meeting, and they can see and hear the live members. In my situation, I never know where the TV will be situated, so I need the 30-foot cable. This cable provides a great image on the screen and the voices can be heard by the members.
